The Ozark Mountains along the Buffalo River are considered the oldest mountains by the ones who live here. They were formed not by earthquakes like the Appalachians, considered my the majority to be the oldest, the Rockies, or the Tetons, but instead by erosion. What was originally a sea bed 542 million years ago turned into the Springfield Pateau, the base for these mountains, then streams formed, eroding away the rock, creating bluffs, sheer faces, caves, and over hangs. 10,000 years ago people started using these caves and overhanges for shelter. Then Homesteaders came, there cabins still stand. Then the Army decided that they were going to dam the river. The people of the Ozarls wouldm’t allow this to happen. The fight fo the Buffalo began. The people won and in 1972 the Buffalo became the Buffalo National Rive, part of the National Park service., and remains to be one of the few remain free flowing rivers in the lower 48.
Thsi river has many beutify places, most of wich you wont find on a mp. there are no tours leading you through the mountains like the Rockies do. No nice roads like the Smokies. While the majority of the roads are paved, they are not nice roads. Many of them are the original mountain roads that were created with a team of horses and waggons following the hills and bluffs. There have been a few changed but not many. The last of the one lane steel bridges were taken out. THis places has been frozen in time. And I would like to keep it that way.
All of the prints will have a small white border, which will not be seen when matting/framing.
This is available with or without a cream matt.
With the matt, you will need a frame that is one size bigger. For an 8x10 print, you will need an 11x14 inch frame. An 11x14 print will need a 16x20 inch frame.
All of my prints are archival inkjets, with ink rated to last without fade for 100 years in proper storage or display. The sun will fade prints if they are not protected and extreme impurities in the air.
The frame is not included.
Glass is not included.
Each print will be signed. Either on the matt or on the print, with silver ink.
This is not ready to hang, you will either need a frame or some other kind of hanger, this is either just the print or the print with a matt that will fit a frame. If you buy one with the matt then you will need to take the matt that comes with the frame out. No additional backing is needed, but if the frame has room for it, it will make the print more stable.
When selecting shipping you have to select the option that is for PRINT ONLY. It is clearly labeled. If you selected any other option then I can not ship it to you. If you selected the frame option then I can not ship it. This print does not come with a frame. You can either have it with matt or without matt. Those are your only options.
